CHICAGO (August 10, 2011) — Bigger and better than ever, NBA superstar Dwyane Wade’s annual Wade’s World Weekend (W3) returns August 25th-27th with a “who’s who” line up of hot talent for the weekend fundraiser. This year’s highlights include Welcome To Chicago Kick-Off Party featuring Estelle at Enclave (8/25); D. Wade’s Celebrity VIP Lounge at 8fifty8 (8/26); D. Wade’s Chicago Has Talent Showcase at the Chicago Theatre featuring Diggy Simmons and Jawan Harris hosted by Rocsi (106 and Park) and Lil Rel (8/27); and The Grand Finale featuring a DJ Set by Lo Down Loretta Brown (aka Erykah Badu) at The Hard Rock Café (8/27).

D. Wade’s Chicago Has Talent Showcase, now in its third year, provides an opportunity for Chicago youth ages 7-18 to share their talents with Wade and a few of his celebrity friends who will judge the competition, naming one lucky Chicago act as the winner. Auditions take place at 9am at the Chicago Theatre, the same day as the evening showcase. In addition to Cash Prizes, winners will receive prizes courtesy of Gatorade, Key Lime Cove, The Mash and more. The 1st Place Prize includes a $3,000 Cash Prize and the opportunity to perform on ABC’s Windy City Live.

New this year is a partnership with Albert’s Diamond Jewelers for the “Albert’s Diamond Dash” to benefit the Wade’s World Foundation. On Sunday, August 21st at 3pm, 100 engaged (or soon to be engaged) couples will participate in a wedding scavenger hunt, racing to find a $20,000 diamond engagement ring. The winning couple will also get to enjoy dinner with Dwyane Wade and friends during W3. The event takes place at Wicker Memorial Park in Highland, Indiana. There is a $25 per couple registration fee that will benefit the Wade’s World Foundation. Couples can register online at

This is the fourth year Wade has held the popular charity weekend of events in his hometown to support the foundation’s mission to touch young lives around the globe. “Last year we had an amazing response to the weekend and we are very excited about this years line up,” says Tragil Wade, Executive Director of the Wade’s World Foundation. “The fact that so many figures from the worlds of arts, entertainment and sports to come support the weekend shows that so many people across the country care about our youth.”
